The magic of books

This summer my nephew has asked that we do a reading challenge for all of the kids.  How cool is that?  I tell you some days these kids know exactly what to say to make me so dang proud!  If you didn’t know I am kind of (ok, ok there really is no kind of about it) a book addict.  I joke that if it weren’t for the library I wouldn’t be able to afford my addiction, except it really isn’t much of a joke.  I also have a book blog, and you can find me on goodreads.  The kids always see me reading.  I have also always made time to read to them, I know quite well what happens when you give a mouse a cookie.  One time my husband lost his mind and took me and one of the nephews to an actual bookstore, after he got the two of us to stop squealing in delight and running in a million different directions, then he got to explain we couldn’t buy everything we wanted. He realized why going to the library is the better option.  I do buy the kids books whenever I can though, apparently I have filled at least one bookcase in a household. One of the main reasons  I made these cards to send to my kids to kick off our summer reading. I also made them to submit to the A Day for Daisies Challenge #149 and Freshly Made Sketches #239 , and I used this sketch:
