Warbler and magnolias

I think this card turned out to be really pretty.  I don’t think the punches that I did show up very well, but that is ok.  The design on this card is Warbler and Magnolias.  When I was water coloring the magnolias I used some victorian velvet to start with a strong base color and then I mix in a bit of picket fences and then finish coloring out the petals.  It gives it a nice orchre effect.  When I first got picket fences I really hated it, which was really disappointing because I love all of the others so much, I thought it would work like the marker and be a good strong white and it is not.  I just really needed to learn how to make it work and now I really like it, it is awesome for blending.  I used my new (after making the loopy border from a previous card myself) heart border die to make the three hearts attached at the top of design.  I used my Xyron sticker maker to turn my ribbon into a sticker to attach to my card and then I attached my flower using the rager multi medium matte.  I am submitting this card to I {heart} sketches with(out) a tWist recycling sketch #2.

This is the sketch I used on this project:

Love your take on the sketch! The hearts are such a perfect way to imitate the scallops. Thanks for joining us this week at From the Heart Stamps!
