Striped birthday flowers

I really love clean and simple cards. I was so trying to make this card only one layer, but the little bit of paper at the top and bottom just pulled the card together so nicely. Well, I will just have to try again on the one layer.  I used COTTAGE GARDENS for the design and SIMPLY SENTIMENTAL for the sentiment on this card, both are from Newton’s Nook Designs.  I stamped the design using my Mini Misti in order to line the flower stripes up correctly and my sentiment also.  You can find the inks I used below.  I then attached my strips of plaid paper to the top and bottom.  I am submitting this card to Inky Paws Challenge #48  and to Seize the Birthday: One Layer! (a new to me challenge!).
