A welcome gnome
Growing up I remember a big book about Gnomes that I thought was kind of magical. I have always had kind of a soft spot in my heart for the little fellows since then. The gnome, as well as his house and the sentiment on this card, comes from the Cute gnome set from DigiStamp Boutique. I started out by printing out my designs and then watercolored them. I normally start with my image and then do my grass and sky, but this time I started with the background first and I think it worked better for me. The grass is mowed lawn and the sky is a blend of stormy sky and pickett fence. I love that the sky color for the distress inks is stormy even if I do blend it with white to make it a bit less stormy sometimes when I used to do more photography I would always complain if the sky was too clear because it wasn’t interesting. I then painted my mushroom top and gnome clothes barn door, my mushroom house was completed with antique linen and tea dye. I colored my gnome skin tattered rose, his belt and boots, as well as the tire on his wheelbarrow, is black soot. The flowers are worn lipstick and his wheelbarrow is peacock feathers. I affixed everything to the front of the card and then I added my flowers with a bit of glue.
