Christmas tree sprite

This little sprite reminds me of everything that I loved about Christmas time over at my Mother in laws house when she was still with us.  From decorating the tree and then enjoying a cup of cocoa, to the kids putting on shows on Christmas eve. Even in adding the metal piece behind reminds me of the tree topper that was purchased by my parent-in-laws for their first Christmas at a local five and dime and amazingly still rotates today.

I used Little Christmas Tree from Aurora Wings for the main design on this card.  I started by printing out my design and then watercoloring it using the colors listed in the tools section below.  After I watercolored I daubed the edges in order to give the image a warm glow.   I then attached everything to the front of my card.

I love the story and the lovely memory that go along with this lovely card you made, Gina. It warms my heart to read that this little image of mine reminded you of such fond memory of Christmas. Thank you for sharing it. Your coloring in watercolor is beautiful, and it gives the perfect ‘children’s picture book’ quality that is relaxed and easy-going. It’s a perfect match to the simplicity of the line art. Thank you for joining our Metallics challenge at Aurora Wings. Happy Holidays! Mitzi xx
