Made the card yesterday and was going to post it, but instead of doing our normal morning swim that we have been doing this week my nephew and I went last night and it just didn’t get done. By the time this morning came I realized I just didn’t like what I had made and wanted to remake it, so I did, and thankfully I have just enough time to still submit it to the summer coffee lovers blog hop (I hope!). read more
I love this card! I keep imagining a quaint little coffee shop with this being the scene outside in the morning. What a great place to visit, especially if it were your birthday! I have to admit that I borrowed a technique for the balloons from a recent blog hop and I can’t remember who to credit with the amazing idea, but they are just cut out of card stock and then covered in Ranger Glossy Accents which gives them that balloon-like quality.
I miss coffee 🙁 I have started to be able to drink cocoa though and it is making me happy. My husband just surprised me with a new teapot the other day and it reminded me that I need to work on finding a tea that I can drink, I think it is mostly that I need to stick with herbal.
I am finally done doing administration type stuff, well I am always doing some but I am done with the big block I was doing. I hate trying to keep on top of stuff that isn’t fun creative stuff. I know it seems like I probably don’t have a lot of ‘work’ to do, but honestly, it sneaks up. Keeping everything organized is a job in itself. Anyway, that’s done for at least a couple of months (if I keep up with things).
Hubby was my muse on this card. When he peeked at what I was doing his response was “yup, not just for Christmas though” oh and he liked the colors. I was going to say coffee on the banner, but I haven’t been able to really drink coffee for a long time now and I still get these cups just with tea or sometimes cocoa. I didn’t want to limit it, especially since I made it so you could tuck a gift card inside.
A gift of tea! Fall time is the perfect time to enjoy a nice pot of hot tea and a good book. I recently got dies to be able to include gift cards in my cards and I have been playing around with them, I think I am ready to start putting them out in my shop. Of course I couldn’t find an actual gift card for the photo, so my library card had to fill in. Again, books and tea a perfect combo.
