When a friend of mine asked me if I could make her birthday invites I was excited at getting to do just that. She loves stripes so I thought this sketch would be a perfect base, and I wanted a fun fairy with striped socks to make it the perfect card for her (and this one with the cupcake makes it perfect for a birthday invite). The main image is the first one I made, but it needed some tweaks and she wanted 12 cards so the second image is of all of the cards together. Each Fairy has her own coloring and personality, and I love that!
For some reason while working on this card my dyslexia decided to kick in. Don’t get me wrong, I regularly will flip or change up a sketch a bit here or there, but this time I didn’t do that at all. In fact every once in awhile, much like this, I will cut a piece and then look at the sketch and sware that it was the other way around the last time I looked. Agh!
I have officially hit my heavy birthday time of the year. I always kind of wish it wasn’t at the same time that I was trying to get all of my Christmas stuff done, but since my birthday is at this time of year I don’t complain too much. This year I have at least tried to make some cards ahead of time so that I am not quite so stressed over the next couple of weeks.
We live in an older house and with that comes fun electrical issues sometimes. Yesterday was one of those times. I seem to keep tripping the circuit that my desk is on, and that meant not getting my card posted until today.
This truly is one of my favorite stamps. I think because I identify with it so much, and I have so many friends and family that I can use it for. Readers tend to find one another I guess. Which is kind of interesting to me because I don’t think it is a social kind of hobby…lol read more
