Ants agh! I have been battling them this morning. I am happy it has finally started to warm up, but I am less than happy that that means the ants have returned. They seem to especially like my desk for some reason. Normally I have a desk spider that helps keep them in check, but right now she doesn’t seem to be doing her job. Now that I think about it I haven’t seen her in a couple of days.
Lately I have felt like the world is giving me little gifts of happiness in a weird way. See, I love mythology. I still have the opening of the Odyssey memorized. I had a teacher actually realize that she couldn’t test me on mythology and since the test, she gave needed updating had me write a new one for the class instead. I am strongest on Greek and Roman but I know quite a bit about Norse and have dabbled in any others that I could as well. Anyway, a challenge that has mythology as its base is just awesome, and that was only one part of the option! Oh and I discovered a reading challenge that has me excited as well!
Easter is coming so quickly! It always sneaks up on me since it moves around every year. I like it a bit better when it is in April, but the 1st seems a bit like it’s only technically in April this year.
When I start watercoloring an image the first thing I do is pull out the colors that I think are going to work for each part, sometimes that gets changed along the way. Some images I can only figure out a color or two to start and the rest comes to me as I go along. This one I have to admit I kept changing where and what I thought the colors should be and where they should go.
Cake just goes with birthdays. I wish that I could make a cake for everyone for their birthday, but a card with cake on it sends a lot better. That and my days of making cakes are passed, but I still like to think about what kind of cake is represented on the card.
One of the reasons that I like to do challenges is that they make me think and sometimes I am not so sure that I do a very good job at that. They do always make me try new things and that is awesome. I am not very good at coming up with starting ideas out of the blue.
