Happy Halloween! I am looking forward to handing out candy to the little ghouls and goblins that stop by tonight. Hopefully, it is a good night for the kids to be able to get out. Wishing everyone a spooky day and hopefully, you get the candy you enjoy instead of rocks!
That feeling when I look at a sketch and think “Oh, I have that stamp!” I know I didn’t have to use paisleys on the card, but I just love that it makes me get out a stamp that I may not use as much. This stamp set was actually given to me by a friend so it is all that much more exciting to get to pull it out and use it.
This year I seem to be reading a lot. I know I always say I read a lot, but this year I am having a hard time figuring out how many books to challenge myself with on the yearly Goodreads reading challenge. In the past I have set it based on the year before and it has worked pretty well. This year I took on another reading challenge that opened up graphic novels/comics in a way that has been a lot more accessible to me. Now, I am having to figure out what is a reasonable number to read in a year. By the way if you are also on Goodreads feel free to friend me!
This card almost was called father and son. I went with the less exact title since I wasn’t sure of what the familial relation actually was. It could be more of a before and after for all I know. That is one of the wonderful things about Halloween to me, it is a time to make stories! I love when kids have a story that goes with their costume.
Sometimes I find card making supplies in other sections of the store. I just went through the Michaels website and I can’t find the bat and ghost anywhere. That could be because I found them in the party section? They were packaged to be scattered on a table as a part of a Halloween party decoration series that I don’t think they have this year. Then again I buy kitchen supplies at the hardware store.
The pain in my arm is not helping me at all. It is getting better, slowly. I wish it would hurry up a bit. I just deleted everything that I had written for this post on accident…oops. I also should have used a lighter cardstock for the background of this card but didn’t really realize that until way too late. Again, oops.
