Huge birthday wishes

There was something that I saw the other day that said ‘You know you have Multiple Sclerosis…when you are already tired tomorrow.’ That is absolutely true for me. In fact, with the heat, I think I am already tired for the next week already as well. I am so glad that nap time is soon…

I need you and coffee

The heat has definitely made it hard for me to make cards. It seems like a good idea to distract me until I need to use the heat gun. Where there is a will there is a way through. My nephew heard me utter ‘There is more than one way to skin a cat’ the other day while doing something, and wanted to know what that meant. It is always one of those moments that I realize that the phrase is actually kind of awful, but I explained that it was my way of keeping from cussing or quitting and reminding myself there is always more than one way to do something.

So you of you

Letting the colors do what they want. It is fun to watch them do their thing. I think sometimes it can be hard to just let go and let whatever happens happen, but that is truly the beauty sometimes. I love this technique because it makes me remember to let go.

Simply wonderful

My little ladybug girl has grown up and is now a bit more of a Nancy Drew. They do have a tendency to do that. Growing up I mean. It is fun and a bit frustrating, but I love seeing what comes next. I also have let them all know that as Auntie I reserve the right to always be able to refer to them by my favorite nicknames for them. I am pretty sure that is in the Auntie contract.

Ready for Christmas?

Right now thinking about snow is rather pleasant. It is stupid hot here right now. I kind of look like the poor reindeer on this card. Then again I kind of look like him right before Christmas also. I really like the reindeer on this card!

Patience is a gift that I tend to be extremely thankful for. I lose it, just like everyone else, but I tend to hold out a lot longer before I do. I have no idea how I have the patience I do, I think reading has a lot to do with it. I definitely have more in some situations than others. This card strangely was a bit of a test trying to figure out how to make the D shape, but in the end, I think I did ok. There may have been several other things at the time trying them also, but that is a different story…

Sea You Soon

As I am trying to write this my pup is telling me that his kid needs to give me fresh water. He is a funny little dog. He thinks he is the kid’s nanny so will come to tell me if they are doing something he thinks they shouldn’t be doing, or if there is something he thinks they should be doing and aren’t. He isn’t so happy about them growing up for the most part, but it does come with some perks for him so he has adjusted.

Stuck on you

It never fails that when I am in bed falling asleep or in the shower I come up with a million things to say on here and things that would be awesome to do, but as soon as I am on here I can’t think of any of them. I know that I am not alone in this, it just is always so irritating. Then again I also thought I had cactus paper to go with this card and when I looked I realized they were palm trees.

Unbelievable birthday at sea

“Here be dragons” that is why you always have to be careful when you leave your front door. You never know what you are going to run into. I kind of like the idea that on your birthday it would allow you to see the magical creatures of the world. Especially if you realized that they were around you every other day as well just going about there lives and coexisting and not being a threat. I am sure that it would go bad, but I like to think it could be a special kind of treat.

Beautiful heart

This card looks a bit like delftware or flow blue to me and I love both of those! Well, my favorite color is blue particularly dark blue so it isn’t much of a stretch. Oh and I love florals! I have been talking to my husband about my need for white space in design and I think this might be a bit of where that comes from actually.

Thinking of you amidst the stars

Although I love playing with new products I seem to need to remember to watch some videos first. I keep ruining things accidentally by not doing that. I didn’t know that the distress spray was supposed to be washed off the stencil right away, and not to spray it on my crafting matt. Oh well, live and learn, I need a new matt anyway since I used spray glue on it a while ago…

Feel better bouquet

When I was making this card I realized that I have a tendency to have a set pattern of what I do with each card, and it normally works well for me. This time since I was making a different size and shape than normal however it went a bit wrong doing that. I cut the wrong size card base the first try and the wrong envelope liner. Small things but frustrating none the least.

Anniversary roses

Right now my workflow is off due to summer break and sharing my work area with the kids. So, I thought I had done a better job of replicating the sketch until I was able to get back to my computer and look at it. The picture in my head wasn’t quite the same I guess, I turned the fade the wrong way and moved the sentiment. Ah phooey.

Kitty in a pine tree

The name for this card is supposed to be a play on a partridge in a pear tree. It was either that or something about the meowiest of ornaments. Sometimes I have problems naming things. I had a lot of pets with either bad names or no names, in fact, my first doll was called naked baby.

Love and Hugs

OK, I made two of this card as I normally do but only one made it. When I went to stamp the sentiment on the card I managed to turn it upside down and it didn’t fit correctly but I didn’t notice until after I had stamped it. Stupid mistake, but it is why I tend to make two cards so that at least one is still useable.

Donut Worry

While working on this card I actually texted out the main design twice. That makes me think that what made me fall in love with this stamp set is because it really is so useful. Things go wrong and there isn’t a lot we can do about them sometimes. Donuts help though.

Sparkly pink birthday wishes

Pink and sparkles and flowers and unicorns and rainbows and everything girly that I could fit on this card that I could! I love that the girls in our family are all very good at embracing their inner princess. Of course, they are all of the self-saving cape-wearing superhero variety which is the best kind if you ask me.

Flowers for your birthday

In our house we are known to say ‘more to do than can ever be done’. It tends to sum up that feeling of knowing that all of the needs to-dos, and wants to-dos, feel just overwhelming sometimes. When I start to feel this way I actually pull on something that I learned working in kitchens, just focus on the ticket in front of you, it doesn’t matter if you only have one person to serve or an entire houseful all you can do when you are cooking is deal with that one thing in front of you to the best of your ability and all of a sudden you find you have cleared everything.
