Making this card I was thinking about the fact that we are coming up on our twenty-year mark this November. My nephew and I were talking about marriage and I told him we found someone who we were friends with, but the most important thing was realizing we are better together than we ever were apart. We compliment one another even if we don’t always agree on everything.
Straitining up my desk the other day reminded me of some things that I just haven’t found the right place to use yet. The ampersand die has been one of those that I keep looking at and just not having the click as to where it would work right. It finally found its place! Yay!
When I start watercoloring an image the first thing I do is pull out the colors that I think are going to work for each part, sometimes that gets changed along the way. Some images I can only figure out a color or two to start and the rest comes to me as I go along. I didn’t do that this time, I don’t know why I just didn’t. You can see what happens when I don’t, I lost part of my design due to overcrowding! Lesson learned!
OK, I think I finally figured out the secret to the heart wreath stamp. Just use one color. Well, I am sure that I could go in with a fine tip pen and add a bit of more color at this point if I really felt the need, but I am thinking my problem with the stamp is that I keep trying to make it to complex and need to just keep it simple. It is beautiful as it is and I need to just let that be. read more
