Right now my workflow is off due to summer break and sharing my work area with the kids. So, I thought I had done a better job of replicating the sketch until I was able to get back to my computer and look at it. The picture in my head wasn’t quite the same I guess, I turned the fade the wrong way and moved the sentiment. Ah phooey.
Loving getting to play with new stamps! This card just really came together while I was playing around with the stamps. I love how that can happen. I wanted to see if this would work, and it did, so then I should try this, and that worked too, and they look so nice together, and all of a sudden I realize that I have made a really pretty card.
This card actually made me use some of my rusty computer skills. I used to do a lot more image work, and I guess I still know how to do it if I need to. I wanted to make the center of the heart a cut out and since I know that I am horrible when it comes to fussy cutting, I knew if I just prepared the image correctly I could make my Cricut do the work for me. I think that is one of the reasons that I like digital images so much.
Wedding cards are something that I haven’t been making to many of. I really think that they need to be bigger than my standard cards and I haven’t been able to make the ‘investment’ in being able to do them as well. I think I just need to figure out how to make that happen or just make what I have work. I especially like that this card could also be used as an anniversary card.
Making this card I was thinking about the fact that we are coming up on our twenty-year mark this November. My nephew and I were talking about marriage and I told him we found someone who we were friends with, but the most important thing was realizing we are better together than we ever were apart. We compliment one another even if we don’t always agree on everything.
