The Easter bunny has come and left, and spring break is now over here. Hopefully, that means warm weather is officially on the way, but I am not going to hold my breath. I am just happy that spring cleaning should be done for the year! Now if we can just keep things in order until fall cleaning.
When I start watercoloring an image the first thing I do is pull out the colors that I think are going to work for each part, sometimes that gets changed along the way. Some images I can only figure out a color or two to start and the rest comes to me as I go along. This one I have to admit I kept changing where and what I thought the colors should be and where they should go.
So, I was going to go in a completely different way with this card, but I just couldn’t make it work. I know I say that a lot, it’s true a lot. I have a stamp that I wanted to use, but it just didn’t ‘work’ so I was looking around at what I have and saw this birdcage and it seemed rather perfect. If I have learned anything over the past so many years it is to be flexible.
This year I have a goal of making enough Christmas cards throughout the year to be able to participate in a holiday craft fair. If not, at least make enough to send to everyone on my list without having to stress in December. Fingers crossed!
I have been having fun with my nephew instead of paying attention to deadlines and whatnot. So, I may have missed getting this card submitted to the sketch challenge that I used with it. I also didn’t realize it was supposed to be teal and I used just a blue instead. Color challenges are not my strong point.
