When I saw that part of the Christmas challenge this month was hat I knew this Santa was the guy for the job. I think a big part of the reason I fell in love with him was the amazing hat that he is wearing. The thing is that while I was making this card I realize that he looks a bit like a wizard as well. Now I have other ideas of how he might get used…
Many times I fall asleep thinking of card designs and wondering if certain things can work or not. This card is one of those wondering if something could work or not, and it did work! I used a stencil to emboss my background. Using the embossing mat with my Cuttlebug I was able to use a stencil to emboss instead of an embossing folder, this is so cool! My stencil love just grew.
In order to keep track of the challenges that I am working on and what the topic is I have a worksheet I made myself where I write everything down that hangs on a clipboard next to my desk. Well, I guess I wrote things down a bit wrong this time, I wrote gift instead of give. They are similar concepts but can have a bit of a different interpretation in the grand scheme of things. I give gifts out of love so it still works, right?
While making these I was trying to figure out what to put on the tag with the puppy and I couldn’t think of anything. Then I remembered last year while I was trying to wrap presents my ‘helper’ puppy was busy checking in each bag and almost unwrapped one of his kids presents before I caught him, and all of a sudden the perfect thing came to me. No peeking for the recipient or the pup!
This is my last Christmas card of the season, I believe. Hopefully this next year I will be better at making them all year and not wait and do them all at the last minute. I did better this last year and it was nice, but honestly, Thanksgiving hits and I get in the mood and I really enjoy making lots of Christmas cards (and I need to I lost count somewhere around sending out 80+)
