It is not as hot here right now as it has been, but I have been told that the heat is coming back. Summer is not my favorite. I keep looking at my to-do list and wincing a bit. Somewhere between the heat and running out of one of my meds, my grand plans become much less grand. Well, I just keep on doing what I can and it will all work out when fall shows up, hopefully…
For some reason this just had to be a calico when I was looking at it. I think it has to do with the look on her face, she is just so happy with what she has accomplished. Even if it isn’t quite what she is supposed to have done. I love that sense of pride and just pure happiness.
There is something about pulling pieces together that is really very satisfying to me. It is what I liked about cooking, and sewing, and theater and probably other things that I have done in the past that I can’t think of at the moment. Putting the right stamp with the right paper and oh that embellishment would be perfect as well and this font goes so nicely is a big part of what I love about making cards.
This card has a touch of personal nostalgia incorporated in it. I was trying to figure out what color to make the car and while I was looking at my paint colors I realized that one of them is the same as the color of the car my husband had in college. There were a lot of good memories with that car, or at least a lot of good stories.
Lately I have felt like the world is giving me little gifts of happiness in a weird way. See, I love mythology. I still have the opening of the Odyssey memorized. I had a teacher actually realize that she couldn’t test me on mythology and since the test, she gave needed updating had me write a new one for the class instead. I am strongest on Greek and Roman but I know quite a bit about Norse and have dabbled in any others that I could as well. Anyway, a challenge that has mythology as its base is just awesome, and that was only one part of the option! Oh and I discovered a reading challenge that has me excited as well!
