The universe spoke and I listened! I had an idea of making the sky background with my currently limited pallet of alcohol inks and was kind of playing around with it. Then I noticed the Library challenge for Dracula, which I could have done so many cards for, but the cover really struck me. Then I received a newsletter from Odd Ball Art co. with the bats, and I knew what I needed to do.
This week has just been kinda crap. If something could go wrong, it probably would. The thing is it isn’t as bad as it could be? Like the shower head broke, but not to the point of being unusable just inconvenient. I have a bit of a cold, but not to the point that I am able to just go read and be miserable. I made this card for my nieces birthday and am just now getting it posted, her birthday was Wednesday.
I love the pout on her face. I think it goes well with what I think of as one of the wonderful things about autumn. Somedays it is warm and sunny, some cold and rainy, some all of the above. Which means that there are days perfect for going and playing at the pumpkin patch, or splashing in puddles, or staying home and curling up and reading.
When I am making cards I am generally listening to music. I tend to vary between jazz and a shuffled mix of randomness. The truth is, for the most part, I listen to music a lot like how I read. I am really bad at sticking to a genre at all. I like a bit of everything and anything. I do however really love music.
Isn’t she cute? I just love this little sprite. The quote makes me unbelievably happy as well. “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” -swoon That is exactly how I feel. This card came together so well that it exceeded my expectations completely! Even when I was playing around making the background paper my husband peeked at it and said “That’s fall”, I knew I had it right at that point.
