That squirrel with the knife is a bit scary. I mean overall I think it is a really cute scene, I just then realize that one of the squirrels is wielding a knife and that is a bit unsettling. Then again I had squirrels trap me in my van one day so it just might be that we have overly aggressive big city squirrels around here and I wouldn’t be surprised if one knew how to use a knife.
While working on this card I actually texted out the main design twice. That makes me think that what made me fall in love with this stamp set is because it really is so useful. Things go wrong and there isn’t a lot we can do about them sometimes. Donuts help though.
This card has a touch of personal nostalgia incorporated in it. I was trying to figure out what color to make the car and while I was looking at my paint colors I realized that one of them is the same as the color of the car my husband had in college. There were a lot of good memories with that car, or at least a lot of good stories.
This sketch kept calling to me yesterday. I was frustrated that I couldn’t get something on the web to work and so I was just going to read, but I just kept having ideas about how to use this sketch. The funny thing is that all of my ideas were thrown out when I started actually making the card, and as soon as I finished it the web thing worked, and I normally have a problem with the three boxes not getting the right measurements so they don’t have a nice space between them. I did manage to read a bit also!
So many times I see cards that inspire me and make me want to make something similar, the great thing is that sometimes I see several different versions of ‘that card’ and it just makes me want to make it even more. This card is based on at least four other cards of a similar style. I think it is the clean and simple design that really speaks to me.
