Color challenges are probably the most daunting for me. I think it has to do with the fact that I already know that there is such a big variance in how color can be perceived. Computer monitors are not all set the same, my color vision is ok but always suspect, even when I buy packages of cardstock I notice the same color will vary slightly from one pack to the next sometimes, and honestly not everyone agrees on what color mauve is anyway. read more
It’s kind of funny to me, every year I get into making Easter cards and all of a sudden I have this thought “I don’t really like Easter”. Why then do I get so into making Easter cards? My theory is that it has to do with where we live more than anything. This house used to be my husband’s grandmothers, and she always had an Easter celebration. The funny thing is that there was always an egg hunt but all of the eggs never were found. Since we have moved in we have a small collection of eggs we have found.
I think it worked! My card wished for sunshine and there was actual sunshine coming through my window today! I would be even more excited if I didn’t know the next week’s forecast is for rain almost every day. At least it seems to be getting a little bit warmer around here.
I believe that I have officially started making Easter cards. I was going to wait a bit longer but I guess I am in need of pastel and bunnies and eggs and chickies. I think the fact that we are still getting snow here might have a bit to do with it. I am convinced that we moved at some point and no one thought to tell me. Then I find out that Chicago didn’t get any snow this year?!?!?!? What? Is this some weird alternate reality? Portland Oregon is not supposed to get more snow than Chicago. Nope. Ok, spring needs to get here now.
I keep missing this challenge. Why? No good reason at all. especially since it is one of my favorites. I think I have just been in kind of a weird headspace lately. It happens. Well, I just need to get my head back in the game.
