Second guessing myself, something I do a lot. I had the idea for this card in my head, and I had to get it out. I think it turned out kind of cool, but I have been second guessing myself about it quite a bit. The thing is that I have a weird feeling that I have seen something similar to the background roses somewhere else. One way or the other it was a fun card to make!
Finding the right place to use things seems to be a huge challenge, and as much as I love having my paper squares from pads they don’t always fit nicely. I am always so excited than when a sketch comes along and I just can tell it will work. Especially when it allows me to incorporate the matching paper and/or stickers with it as well!
Whenever I look at the image on this card I can’t help but think that she is trying to smell all of the baby goodness that she can. I mean I know I have been guilty of doing that on at least one occasion. Those sweet little heads can just smell so good!
Is it wrong that I am a bit jealous of the dress of the girl on this card? It can be kind of fun to live vicariously through the subjects that I am working on for a bit. For a moment I get to be a princess trying to figure out the colors of my perfect dress. I think it is where reading and crafting have a bit of a blending point for me as well.
I was trying to figure out a color for my roses and I remembered that one of the reasons I love the distress inks is that they have so many options, I love that there is a color that technically falls between pink and purple on the color spectrum. Perfect! I didn’t really want to do pink, and I had already picked purple for the background so didn’t want to do it for the roses. read more
