Yay! Another book I have read! This is actually a favorite of mine. I love many of Maurice Sendak’s books. Children’s literature is probably always going to be one of my favorite subjects. I was explaining to my nephew that one of the reasons I love going to the children’s section of the library is that it feels like visiting so many old friends.

Oh! A cookbook I hadn’t read before! It took me a bit to make my card because I took the time to read the cookbook this challenge was based on first. It not only was an interesting book, lot’s of talk about travels, but it was a vegetarian cookbook as well.

This book is one I haven’t actually read. I do however have it on my to check out list right now since it also works for the reading challenge that I am working on right now. I tried to focus on the cover for the inspiration for this card. I actually made the card twice since I didn’t like how the white turned out on the first card and had to go buy a new white stamp pad.

Reading through some of my favorite blogs on Monday I saw a reference to a new challenge that honestly made me kind of giddy. I would imagine most people who know me know that I have a huge weakness for books and reading and this challenge marries that with my obsession with making cards. So when I heard about a library challenge that uses books for inspiration I have to join in! I have been super excited to make this card and get it posted.

There is something about the fact that a card only has a few elements that sometimes makes me work especially hard on those elements. This card I used a lot of different colors for just a few items on it. I wanted the books to really pop. I think sometimes it’s fun to do just that!
