Ok, I know the title of this post might be a bit corny. I like corny. I just do. I also like the image on this card. I have been in love with it for quite a while and am excited to finally use it. I want her to come and bring me cake and presents for my birthday! Do you think she will still be around in January?
I have been making a lot of Halloween cards. If you couldn’t tell I really like Halloween. It is probably my favorite of all of the holidays. One of the big reasons is that it is fairly easy to have an amazing Halloween. The bar gets set really high for most of the other holidays, but for Halloween some candy and a bit of spookiness is all you really need. In fact what might destroy another holiday could potential make for the best Halloween ever. That and cobwebs just become decoration instead of signs I haven’t cleaned…
I don’t plan out what cards I am going to make. I get ideals, but honestly I loose them before I act on them most of the time. I tend to allow challenges and whatever pops up to guide my card making. It works well for me, especially since when I try and force an idea it tends to fail pretty miserably. The neat thing is that every once in a while the universe works in a magical way and this is one of those times. If I would have described the card I wanted to make for Halloween this year, this is exactly what I would have described.
Sometimes I think about how much gets lost in the fact that these cards are so much better in real life than they come across in pictures. I know that I have probably lamented about that before, but it is just one of those things that I don’t know how to really improve upon. I guess it just is what it is..
I love that it could be the ghost or the spider saying boo. I was all finished with this card when I looked at me work space and guess what? I left a cut piece out. Ugh! I hate how often I do that. It wasn’t anything major, just a card stock piece that was supposed to go behind my stamped piece. It just annoys me when I do it.
