I have been having fun with my nephew instead of paying attention to deadlines and whatnot. So, I may have missed getting this card submitted to the sketch challenge that I used with it. I also didn’t realize it was supposed to be teal and I used just a blue instead. Color challenges are not my strong point.
Every since I got this months kit I have been thinking about how to use these leaves and when I saw this sketch this seemed like a good fit. I like how they are thin enough to not overwhelm the card, but they are large enough that you don’t have to use a lot of them to cover the area. I don’t know that they are something that I would buy on my own, and yet I am so happy to get to play with them, that is what I love about the monthly kits!
When I went to make this card I wanted to make a Sorry card, but I don’t seem to have a stamp for that. The kind of funny thing was that I was lamenting to my nephew and he kept saying ‘sorry’ then we realized that it was funny. He didn’t know what to say except sorry you don’t have a sorry stamp. I do have a lot of thanks, stamps so that is what I did instead.
Sometimes I know a general idea of what I want to do for a challenge, and most of the cards I make are inspired by challenges (well it is a whole complex thing but we will just go with that for now), but I don’t know how I am going to pull it off until I find a sketch that works. That was the case with this card. Occasionally I can just put a card together without a sketch, but most of the time I do better with at least the idea of one to work with. read more
When does a stamp hit a point of over use? I feel like I keep using this stamp because I love it so much, but I have only used it three times. Then I think about when I started out and some stamps got used so much I hardly ever use them now. There are other stamps that get neglected simply because I love another stamp a bit more, and yet I always want something new. read more
