Occasionally decorating the tree has been a process that has taken more than one day, much like making this card. Honestly, some cards take extra time, but this one has been a three day process. Why did it take so long? Well, there is always drying time but it was more that I kept getting pulled away or forgot to add the stars. At least the card got made and the tree got decorated, one very sad year our Christmas tree died sitting on top of the box of ornaments in the corner of our apartment.
I love how the background paper has trees that look like they are made out of gingerbread! I bought a pad of paper that was called pine cone lodge because it had lots of other sheets that had snowflakes, when I got it home and started really looking at the paper I noticed this paper. I have even found gingerbread men at Trader Joe’s that I can eat! They are right at my limit of sugar, but at least I have found gingerbread I can enjoy so I don’t have to look like the guy on this card.
I love the slightly retro feel of this card! I went back and forth on coloring in the trees but decided not to because of all of the other colors. Silver was the only color I though was appropriate, and that just didn’t want to happen either. I love when I look at a stamp and realize I have so many plans floating around for it already, it makes me a bit giddy (and anxious), this stamp is one of those. I went a little silly on Black Friday and this was part of that.
