The name for this card is supposed to be a play on a partridge in a pear tree. It was either that or something about the meowiest of ornaments. Sometimes I have problems naming things. I had a lot of pets with either bad names or no names, in fact, my first doll was called naked baby.
When I saw that part of the Christmas challenge this month was hat I knew this Santa was the guy for the job. I think a big part of the reason I fell in love with him was the amazing hat that he is wearing. The thing is that while I was making this card I realize that he looks a bit like a wizard as well. Now I have other ideas of how he might get used…
This little sprite reminds me of everything that I loved about Christmas time over at my Mother in laws house when she was still with us. From decorating the tree and then enjoying a cup of cocoa, to the kids putting on shows on Christmas eve. Even in adding the metal piece behind reminds me of the tree topper that was purchased by my parent-in-laws for their first Christmas at a local five and dime and amazingly still rotates today.
Or “Greeting’s from the PNW!”, that was what I was thinking the entire time I was making this card. I actually live in the heart of Bigfoot country. It’s always fun when we go on vacation around here how much it is a part of the area. read more
While going through my Christmas paper stash for the last card I made I came across the paper I used to make this card. I kept thinking about it because it was something that I didn’t know how I was going to utilize, and then I saw this sketch and it seemed like they were made for one another.
